Weekly Address — May 4, 2020

From the quiet hallways of the most beautiful state Capitol in our nation, this is Senator Keith Ingram.

Legislative leaders just approved an additional $40 million for the Arkansas Ready for Business program.

That brings total funding up to $55 million in grants for small businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Last week, we initially placed $15 million in the Arkansas Ready for Business program.

But soon after the Economic Development Commission began accepting applications, it received more than 2,300 businesses seeking more than $36 million in aid.

The AEDC website will accept new applications tomorrow and Wednesday. That is May 5th and May 6th.

  • 75% of the money will be available for small businesses that have fewer than 50 employees.

  • 15% of the grants are for female or minority-owned businesses.

To get an application, search for the AEDC website. A red banner across the top will lead you to the page where you can apply for grants from the Ready for Business program.

From the Capitol, it is always my greatest honor and most sincere privilege to serve you as your state Senator. This is Keith Ingram.
